Latin name: Aloe vera Tourn ex. Linn Pennel

Application:

Its use is recommended in Ayurveda as a skin conditioner and in the treatment of non-healing ulcers, burn injuries and in treating the liver diseases like jaundice. Experimental studies on Aloe suggest its positive cosmetic value and wound healing properties. Also it was observed that internal use of Aloes evokes positive immune response in experimental animals. The use of Aloe vera is bestowed with multifaceted benefits for skin. By virtue of these properties, it is used frequently in the skin care preparations across the globe.
English name: Holy Basil
Latin name: Ocimum sactum Linn Pennel

Application:
Its use is recommended as a first aid in the treatment of respiratory, digestive and skin diseases. Apart from these common ailments, Ayurveda also recognizes its use for the diseases ranging up to tumerous growths. Experimental studies identify it to be a highly promising immunomodulator, cytoprotective and anticancer agent.
English name: Indian Gooseberry, Emblic Myrobalan
Latin name: Emblica officinalis Linn Pennel

Application:
Indian Gooseberry has been given a prominent place in Ayurveda.Therefore, Gooseberry is considered a bestowed with anti-aging effects. Enthusiastic investigations on Gooseberry substantiate almost all of its acclaimed properties. It has been identified to be a potent antioxidant, immunomodulatory, antistress etc. Apart from its medicinal use. It also finds an important place in traditional hair and skin care formulations. Its cytoprotective role has been investigated in detail. For Ayurveda Gooseberry is considered to be a nature"s boon.

Latin name: Centella asiatica Urban Pennel

Application:
Indian Pennywort is used as a treatment of skin and mental ailments. It is used as a substitute of Brahmi. Its nootropic (nourishment effects on nervous tissue) and immunomodulatory activities have been well investigated. However, it is gentler as compared to latter, as regards to its effect on brain and nervous tissue.

Application:
Mint is used as a carminative and an expectorant. It is highly effective in treating headaches, rhinitis, cough sore throat, colic, prurigo and vomiting. Soothing the digestive tract and it can be great help for having stomach ache with Drinking herbal mint tea reduces irritated bowel syndromes, cleanses the stomach and also clear up skin disorders such as acne. It serves as a good blood cleanser, antiseptic and anti-bacterial. Mint acts as a cooling sensation to the skin and helps in dealing with skin irritations. Be aware of Ringworm



What is ringworm?

Ringworm is a common skin disorder otherwise known as tinea. While there are multiple forms of ringworm, the most common affect the skin on the body, the scalp, the feet, the groin and the nails.

How did I get ringworm?

Ringworm is contagious and can be easily spread multiple ways. You can get it from an infected person, animal, object, and even soil. Heat and moisture help fungi grow and thrive, which makes them more common in areas of frequent sweating as well as skin folds such as those in the groin or between the toes. This also accounts for their reputation as being caught from contaminated items such as toilet articles, clothing, pool surfaces, showers, and locker rooms.

How is Ringworm Treated?

These fungal infections are not serious and are usually easily treated. However, they are contagious and easily spread. Ringworm can be treated topically with antifungal solution and creams containing clotrimazole, miconazole, and terbinafine in severe or resistant infections on the scalp or nails.

Home Treatments for Ringworm:

Garlic Extract: You need to peel a clove and cut it into slim slices. Place these slices on the affected area and wrap a bandage around it. You need to leave it overnight for best results. In case you would like to make a thick paste and apply it on the ringworm.


Apple Vinegar: To use this remedy effectively, apply undiluted apple vinegar to the patchy area with a clean cotton ball several times every day. You need to do this until the patches are gone. As recommended by dermatologists, applying it 3 to 5 times for three days, will give you the best results.

Coconut Oil: Coconut oil is also greatly used in treating scalp ring worms. You need to apply the oil on the affected area overnight. By doing this you will eliminate build-up and residue of the infection.

  •  Wear slippers or sandals in public pool and any wet areas.
